Wearing perfumes do’s and don’t’s:

Less is more. Don’t wear too much perfume.  What is too much? Generally, 2-3 sprays, on the skin (never on clothes), and on the pulse points, is plenty enough.  Someone should be able to smell your perfume if they’re within 1-2 feet of you, not much more…And this applies to women and men alike.  There’s nothing more off-putting than a man walking by, smelling of cologne from 5 feet away, regardless of how good he looks…
Don’t spray fragrance on your clothes, the perfume might cause a …

Go Tribal With Jewelry!

We can’t love Micha Designs jewelry enough! Her fashion installation presenting her Summer 2011 Modern Neo-Tribal designs featured colorful chunky pieces, set against white (reconstructed tee-shirts, white grass skirts, white body paint)…
The re-constructed tee-shirts look great: they all have a wrapped-thread effect, it works well with the tribal style. Could see wearing these around town…
The white-painted grass skirts are fun, but they’re hardly wearable in ‘real’ life, unless it’s a costume party…As for the jewelry, that’s easy, it’s all available at EM & Co.
The white body paint …

Choosing a Perfume

We’ve seen the power of scent to create a lasting memory, and how it affects more than the sense of smell. Wearing a perfume could add a ‘fourth’ dimension to an outfit, enhancing its visual appeal…A perfume could become your personal brand, it could be used to enhance your personality, inspire others, and cause a lasting impression…
But beware, the fragrance you choose could cause people to be attracted to you, or the contrary. Choosing a perfume is often the most difficult step in wearing fragrance, so choose wisely…

Magical Invisible Perfumes…and Us

Perfume has been a very important part of fashion for centuries – if you don’t believe it, just take a look at how many major fashion brands have their own fragrance, and the millions spent every year on perfume and fragrance…
Wearing a fragrance adds another dimension to an outfit, appeals to yet another sense: the sense of smell.  Whereas color and shape appeal to our visual sense, texture appeals to our sense of touch, and the soft rustle of taffeta or click of heels appeals to our sense of hearing, …

Chains Jewelry – Creativity Unchained

Chains have always been an integral component of jewelry, well…practically since the beginning of time.  However, during the last 4 years, chains have evolved as the sole component of jewelry pieces, used and combined in surprising and novel ways…It’s practically all about the chains…
Over the last 3 years, chains accessories have taken the center stage.  No longer just dainty chains from which to hang pendants, but as increasingly massive, statement pieces, they can transform any old t-shirt into going-out attire…

Turquoise Jewelry: Must-Have Spring Trend

Pieces of sky.’ That’s how turquoise was called by some Native American tribes.
Present in top trends over the last 3 years (seen in the Native American and Moroccan trends), turquoise is back in 2011 as favorite accessory to the tribal and bohemian trends.   The Pantone color of the year, and one of the main colors of the spring 2011 palette, turquoise is often combined with its complementary colors: orange or butterscotch.

Braided and Corded Jewelry

This summer hang a rope around your neck. Braided, corded and rope jewelry are a popular trend for spring. There are many variations in color, shape and hardware, which keep each piece interesting. Not only does the low cost of materials make most of these accessories very affordable and available in many retail stores but a lot of the jewelry is also “eco friendly”.

Women’s Fashions Men Hate

Ok, so there are some aspects of fashion that men and women don’t see eye-to-eye on.   Whereas women may like them, for whatever reasons, men don’t.
After a little research, here are some of the unanimous winners in the  men’s ‘No-No’ department:
1.  Ugg Boots:  ‘ugg-ly’ and unflattering.
We totally agree.  The only place Ugg boots should be worn is apres-ski, on the slopes.
2.  Harem Pants: not flattering, not even on Kim Kardashian.

As much as we like harem pants, we must agree, they are not very figure-flattering, they tend to add inches in unwanted …

What to Wear to a Pillow Fight

April 2nd is the International Pillow Fight Day.  The Pillow Fights, happening on this day in over 30 cities around the world, are organized by the Urban Playground Movement, who aims “to make these unique happenings in public space become a significant part of popular culture.”
For the third year in a row, over 400 people gathered in downtown L.A.’s Pershing Square to unleash some good-natured aggression in a fight-to-the-death (of the pillow)…They duked it out in great style, feathers flying everywhere…

Which leads to the question, what DOES one wear to a pillow fight, besides the obvious …
